Pipe cleaners are a common tool used in children's crafts. They are thin pieces of wire covered in a fuzzy material that can range in color, texture, and thickness. Pipe cleaners have a wide range of usages, making them a perfect tool to add to crafts.
Pipe cleaners can come in a variety of lengths and may be sold in packs as small as ten to packs of hundreds per color.
Pipe cleaners can also come in sets with other crafting materials such as clay, googly eyes, and string.
Air-dry clay is a mixture of clay and water. It has a spongy and airy feel to it, making it very light. Air-dry clay is a variation of traditional clay that may be used for pottery. This variation is perfect for children's crafts as it does not require heat to finish the craft(Solanki, 2023). Additionally, air dry clay is usually sold in multiple colors which removes the aspect of having to paint a creation. However, it CAN be painted on and is done so easily due to its simple makeup.
Air-dry clay is incredibly user-friendly. It is quick to set up, and clean, and requires little to no instruction for a child to engage with it. Air-dry clay can be crafted with without using any additional accessories, due to its basic formulation(Solanki, 2023).
