About the Researcher

Dhruv Arora

Dhruv Arora is an Engineering freshman with the University of California, Davis majoring in Computer Science & Engineering. His professional and academic interests span across Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Computer Vision, and Cybersecurity, which he is developing while he pursues his goal of becoming a successful technological entrepreneur.

Dhruv believes that AI/ML and Computer Vision have immense potential to significantly transform not only consumer experiences (e.g., through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri), but to also radically transform Agriculture, Healthcare, and Public Sector, which are still early adopters of these technologies. Towards developing his perspectives on these topics, Dhruv has written research papers and successfully completed industry internships, notably with Palo Alto Networks on Cybersecurity and Amity University on Cryptography. His research paper on 'Adopting Industry 4.0 to Agriculture in India', based on his learnings from working with the farmers in Auchandi Village in India, has been published earlier this year by the prestigious International Journal of Knowledge Based Systems, KES Journal, Netherlands. The paper provides novel perspectives on providing 4IR Technologies as the umbrella framework comprising of cognitive internet of things (IoT), big data analytics, drones/spatial technologies and digital user experience for farm yield improvement and pest control.

Dhruv is an awarded STEM student, having bagged top ranks in National-level competitions including Mathematics Olympiads and Science contests, organized by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. He is also trained as Fortis ambassador on mental health, gender sensitivity, risk behavior management, and media literacy in social peer groups.

Dhruv has completed his high-school graduation in 2021, earning Summa Cum Laude from the Delhi Public School, India.
