Abou Traore
He is a 15 year old who first lied about his age when asked by a reporter, claiming he was 19 years old, because working at 15 is illegal. He has been working on the cocoa farm in the Ivory Coast since he was 10 years old along with many other boys around the same age.
Amadou Sawadogo
He was 16 years old when he came to the Ivory Coast from Burkina Faso looking for money to make. It is common for children from Burkina to be trafficked and parents are often paid in exchange for their children.
Aboudnamune Oued Rago
He is 13 years old and arrived when he was 11. He would like to reunite with his family sometime because he states that it has been a while since he last saw them. He claims that the children working make small amounts of money and are hungry.
This book is made up of varies stories from children who worked on cocoa plantations and it includes images of where they worked.
