Upper School Leadership Team
Years 8-11 students are off on their Week Without Bells adventures this week, participating in specialized programming to build skills and relationships. The weather up north has been beautiful, and the outdoor learning environments positive and enthusiastic, as UCC students have challenged themselves, made memories and developed new connections. On campus, Year 12s have been enthusiastically engaged in completing Diploma coursework. The week ended with the Collaborative Science Project focused on studying soil and exploding pumpkins! The Year 12s enjoyed the time spent working together and tackling some of the final stages of the Diploma Programme.
At UCC, everyone belongs. Celebrating Pride Week signals that our school is a safe space that is affirming of all students and their families. Pride Week allows us to celebrate and recognize the diverse families who are a part of our school community, commit to being an ally and ensure that all community members who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ feel welcome.
In the Upper School, we will be marking Pride Week with a Principal’s assembly on Monday, a Pride Picnic in Massey Quad during Flex Time on Tuesday, a tie-dye your own UCC spirit wear event on Wednesday, an open GSA meeting on Thursday and a Colours Casual Dress Day on Friday Oct. 24. Students are invited to wear any of the colours of the rainbow.
Photo days:
Wednesday, Oct. 22 (Years 8 and 9)
Thursday, Oct. 23 (Years 10 and 11)
Friday, Oct. 24 (Year 11 continues and make-up photos for students who were away and missed taking their photo)
While our photos do not go into the yearbook, they are used for internal purposes such as preparing Prize Day or Election Day slides and appearing on our security cards. It is important for students to have their photo taken.
Dress code for photo: While First Dress is recommended, a UCC-crested golf shirt is acceptable.
UCC has teamed up with Aramark to provide parents with a new online portal. This portal allows you to view itemized receipts for student meal purchases in the Upper School.
How to request access
To get started, please complete this Google request form. Please note the following:
Only one parent needs to complete the form, as the portal allows for only one email address per login.
If you have more than one child at the school, you must submit a separate request form for each student.
Please complete the form by Friday, Oct. 17.
Account creation
After your request is received, we will set up your account and send you an email with the login instructions by Friday, Oct. 25. The email will be sent to the email address you have associated with the portal.
Starting with the January 2026 student statements, meal charges will be summarized into a single charge. If you would like to continue seeing a detailed breakdown of meal expenses, it's important to request access to this new portal.
If you have any questions, please contact Marco Mariani or Joel Saju.
Registration opened at noon on Oct. 14 for three-way conferences at the Upper School.
Nov. 5 (in-person only): Each meeting will be 5 minutes long with 5 minutes of travel time in between meetings.
Nov. 6 (virtual only): Each virtual meeting will be five minutes.
*Please do not book more than 1 appointment per teacher.
SchoolCloud closes: Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 12 p.m.
Preparing for Your Appointments
Once you have scheduled your appointments, please check your email inbox for a confirmation from SchoolCloud with your credentials. This will ensure you are able to join your appointment at the scheduled time(s). If you do not see the email, you may need to check your Spam folder, depending on your email settings.
Note:
When registering, you will need to enter your name and your child’s name exactly as it appears on the Portal.
Please ensure your device has been restarted recently to avoid technical difficulties.
Please review carefully the SchoolCloud access instructions before attempting login
Generally, only one parent/guardian books all the meetings, as they will then invite the other parent/guardian to join the scheduled meetings.

UCC is proud to support Take Our Kids to Work Day for Year 9 students on Wednesday, Nov. 5. This national career exploration event, now in its third decade, invites students to spend the day at the workplace of a parent, relative, friend, or volunteer host, witnessing first-hand the world of work. In doing so, students begin early career planning, gain insight into future goals and endeavours, and learn from the knowledge, experience, and advice of professionals. The event also provides families with a valuable opportunity to discuss career prospects and fosters connections between education and the skills needed in today’s workplace.
This year’s theme, Lift Up the Future, encourages all of us to support young people as they imagine the world they want to build. Year 9 students will learn more in an upcoming assembly, and participating families are reminded to communicate their child’s absence through the SchoolPass App or by emailing usattendance@ucc.on.ca.
