Many of UCC’s theatre productions are produced in partnership with The Bishop Strachan School (BSS). Students from both schools auditioned, were cast, rehearsed for months, and finally, this weekend, the performances of Chicago took place at BSS.
On Friday night, 13 boarders, accompanied by Ms. Blagona, attended the show, with several boarders belonging to the cast and crew. Byron was an amazing lead, Wilde served as the MC and Michael, David and Diamond all had roles in the show. Patrick was part of the behind, and Ayo, Jerry and Roger performed in the band.
Ms. Blagona, HL Drama teacher and Senior House Advisor for Wedd’s noted “the show was fantastic, and it was such a joy to see boarders stepping out of their comfort zones, singing, dancing and acting in an incredible musical performance! The boarders who attended the show shared my pride for their friends and housemates.”
This week, we talked to the Seaton’s House Prefect team MIchael, Daniel, Emmanuel and Ryder, to learn more about life in Seaton’s House.
Can you describe Seaton’s House?
Michael: Seaton’s is warm and welcoming.
Daniel: The Seatons' community can be described in one word: loving. Everyone has each other's backs and wants to ensure success throughout the house. The community is tight, with support and fun times constant, where everyone is viewed as an equal and empowered.
Emmanuel: The Seaton's community is a safe space for anyone, at any time, anywhere. It's a community where everyone is welcomed with compassion and love. The Seaton's community is a family.
Ryder: The Seaton’s community is a supportive group of people. A community that is always there for each other.
What is the best things about being in Seaton’s?
Michael: Being able to make friends with anyone in the boarding house.
Daniel: The best part about being in Seatons is being able to live your life with your best friends. There's no other place where you can battle it out on the field and, an hour later, be brushing your teeth next to the same friends. The best part about being in Seaton’s is the brotherhood that encompasses you and the memories you make with the people you're lucky enough to call your brothers.
Emmanuel: The best thing about Seaton's is the culture within the community. The relationship between all residents in the house is extraordinary, and the interactions between each other are an experience in themselves.
Ryder: The best thing is the communal aspects we have, forming strong bonds and having good times. We have some incredible people in the house.
