The boarding community has family dinners throughout the year to celebrate various holidays and traditions. On Monday, we celebrated Christmas and the holiday season with a festive dinner and concert in the Upper Dining Hall. Aramark prepared a delicious traditional Christmas dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, tourtière and assorted desserts. Heads of House Liyang and Daniel served as MCs, with the evening including students sharing how Christmas is celebrated in Quebec, and several students, including Alston, Nils, Ayo, Timothy, Amaan, Daniel, Arda and Byron, delivering memorable musical performances, with Mr. Sontag joining for an original song. On Saturday evening, 18 boarders, accompanied by Ms. Kanga and Ms. Jinha attended the Boarders Ball at Branksome Hall with boarding students from Havergal, The Bishop Strachan School (BSS), St. Andrew’s College (SAC) and Branksome Hall. Dressed to impress, the boarders in Years 8 to 12 had a chance to mingle and make new friends at a reception before they enjoyed a sit-down dinner and formed teams to enjoy trivia games, including Jeopardy and Name That Tune. A photo booth captured memories and staff and students agreed this should become a recurring tradition! Watch for UCC Boarding to host the next event in spring 2026!
