Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of a postsecondary program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing an application on the U of T residence portal by March 31, and receive and accept an offer of admission by June 1.
If you miss the March 31 deadline, you can still apply to be on the wait list.
Students must respond to all deadlines and meet all deposit requirements in order to maintain their eligibility. No exceptions can be made.
NOTE: You don’t need an offer of admission to apply for residence by March 31. Applying by this deadline doesn’t commit you to attending U of T, living in residence or paying a deposit. You’ll only be asked to pay a deposit if you receive a residence offer between May and August.
Year 12 students who are considering offers from various Ontario universities may wish to investigate their choices further by attending Open Houses next month. Year 11 students may also take advantage of these events to evaluate the schools they may be applying to next year.
