The boarding weekend programming includes a variety of events that allow boarders to enjoy and experience new and exciting activities in different parts of the city. On Saturday afternoon, a group of boarders were accompanied by Mr. DelZotto and Ms. Blagona, to visit a local yoga studio near campus, where they enjoyed an afternoon of Puppy Yoga with 8-week old maltese puppies. The puppies played, ran and explored while the boys did a yoga class. Some puppy play time followed, creating many smiles and cuddles with furry friends. “It was really fun and relaxing to play with the puppies, each one of us had at least 1 or 2 around us!”
This week, we profile the Head of House of Wedd’s, who is a member of the board of stewards, UCC’s Year 12 student leaders.
Name: Daniel Ogunlaja
House: Wedd’s
Year I Started At UCC: Year 11
Hometown: My hometown is Niagara Falls, Ontario.
What I love most about boarding: I love how many different cultures and personalities are able to come together to live with one another, laugh with one another, learn from each other and learn about each other.
Clubs/Teams: I play on the varsity basketball team and varsity track and field team, and acted in two plays —one of which debuts this week! I'm the Co-Head of the Christian Student Alliance, and I'm also involved in Model UN, as the Vice President of Internal Affairs and Under Secretary General of Committee Affairs for OMUN, Canada’s largest student-led MUN conference. I'm also a member of the Black Excellence Society.
University aspirations: I hope to study Economics/Political Science somewhere in North America.
Fun fact: I love music! I enjoy playing piano, and am learning to play guitar.
