During this session, you can find out more about studying law in the U.K. and what your next steps could be after graduation. One of the University of Dundee’s academics from the Law School, Caroline Hamilton, will deliver an interactive Intellectual Property (IP) Law session on 'passing off' — the situation where one brand uses deceptive or confusing representations that confuse consumers into thinking the goods are related to a competitor's brand.
There will also be a panel with some of our current Canadian law students and one of the University's alumni, Josh Young, where you can find out more about their experiences and ask any questions.

The Undergraduate Admission Test U.K. (UAT-UK) offers three different admissions tests for entry into top U.K. universities in a wide range of subject areas. These tests aim to fairly assess the most high achieving applicants. UAT-UK aims to streamline the experience for students applying to competitive undergraduate courses.
Consult with your UCO counsellor and university prospectus pages for which courses require admissions tests in the 2026 cycle.
For 2026 entry, UAT-UK offers three admissions tests:
The Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT)
The Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions (TARA)
The Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA)
Tests are delivered by Pearson VUE, through their global network of professional Test Centres. There are roughly 5,500 Pearson VUE Test Centres to choose from.
The ESAT and TMUA are both multiple-choice, computer-based tests. TARA will be offered for the first time in October 2025. It will consist of two multiple-choice modules plus a Writing Task.
All tests run in two test sittings per year: October and January. This thereby caters to both the UCAS equal consideration dates. The October UCAS deadline is used by Cambridge. Candidates applying to Cambridge must be sure to sit the relevant test in the first test window.
The January UCAS deadline is used by other universities. So, prospective applicants to all other UAT-UK institutions have a choice of when to sit. There is no advantage to sitting in either October or January.
There are currently seven UAT-UK institutions using one or more of these tests: Once again—consult with your UCO counsellor and university prospectus pages for which courses require admissions tests in the 2026 cycle.
The Morehead-Cain Scholarship
As we near the end of this academic year, we wanted to draw your attention to a significant scholarship that has an application deadline early next fall.
The Morehead-Cain Scholarship is an exciting opportunity that is available to Canadian students who wish to pursue their education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
This is a four-year, fully funded educational experience for students of the highest calibre. It's so much more than tuition and room and board, it sets scholars’ potential free. It offers (and funds) life-changing summer enrichment and extracurricular learning experiences. It provides immersion in a dynamic student body at a world-class university. And it promises a lifetime connection to an extraordinary community of Morehead-Cains scattered throughout the world.
The Morehead-Cain Scholarship chooses scholars based on four criteria:
Leadership: Morehead-Cains influence, energize, and inspire others to work together to make an impact. It’s more than titles held or roles played. For scholars, leadership is about courage and action.
Scholarship: Morehead-Cains thrive in an academically rigorous environment, yet are able to contribute to their communities in other ways. They are ready to take full advantage of UNC's academic excellence.
Character: Courage, humility, integrity, maturity, perseverance, self-awareness, generosity and empathy- these are the core values of the Morehead-Cain community. Morehead-Cains embrace the fact that they are growing and learning.
Physical Vigor: Morehead-Cains demonstrate a sustained commitment to fitness and wellness. They value what is gained— collaboration, sportsmanship, discipline, stamina and persistence—by preparing for and engaging in competitions and performances. (Due consideration is given to those with physical limitations.)
Upper Canada College can nominate up to three candidates to apply for this scholarship.
We invite all students who feel that they would be an excellent candidate for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship to submit a one-page letter to the University Counselling Office by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, explaining how they embody the qualities and traits of a successful Morehead-Cain Scholar. Please email your letter to Ms. Lopez at elopez@ucc.on.ca
Please note that the UCO will review the brag sheet which is due May 26 as well as the submitted letter in the review process.
Students will be notified about their nomination status before summer so that they can begin the application when it opens in August. The application is due on October 1.
Previous Morehead-Cain Scholars from UCC include Randy Chang ’23, Kene Ochuba ’21 and Kimathi Muiruri ’17.
