Boarding May 15, 2025
This weekend saw the first ever UCC Boarding Iron Chef competition, organized by Tiger and Michael, for the third and final of the Year 11 BICEP-led weekend programs.
Three teams were each given $30 and 3 hours to buy ingredients and cook with 3 criteria to be judged on. Team 1 made a herby-butter steak and garlic mash, winning Best Presentation and Best Overall. Team 2 made pork tonkatsu, omurice, and tonkatsu sauce, winning Most Creative for their improvisation using cornflakes as panko. And Team 3 made pork rice, omelette, stir-fried beef, peach lemon tea, and a milk dessert, winning Best Flavour for their full course meal!
This event highlighted student interest in cooking, and we're looking forward to future events to showcase the talents of the next generation of Iron Chefs!
