Upper School Leadership Team
Students across grade levels were involved in different areas of focus this week. Year 12s entered exams, putting into practice all of their learning and organizational skills; to start the experience off right, they enjoyed smoothies to boost their wellbeing. Friday’s student assembly profiled student co-curricular leadership and new initiatives, and included demonstrations by our fencing and archery club, a CAS Project: Sustainable Solutions, the Science Society Club speaking about upcoming STEM opportunities, Founder’s Cup, and UCC’s first ever TEDx event.
Monday’s Principal’s Assembly was dedicated to the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia. Students identifying as Muslim delivered a powerful assembly on deconstructing myths associated with Islam and highlighted the diversity within the Islamic community. Green squares were offered following assembly for community members to show solidarity with the Muslim community and stand against Islamophobia.

There are many positions to fill for next year. The PO is a great way to stay informed and connected with the school, support our students, and interact with other parent volunteers through PO events and in-person meetings.
PO goals and initiativesÂ
Our primary goal is to foster community engagement through social, informational and fundraising initiative—from hosting community speakers, parent get-togethers and used uniform and spirit wear sales to organizing our annual Festive Marketplace, there’s a volunteer position for everyone.
