Dear UCC Families,
I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Tina Jagdeo as our new Director of Wellbeing and Pluralism. In this role, Tina will collaborate with colleagues across the College to develop and deliver an exemplary continuum of learning that encourages the physical, cognitive and social-emotional wellbeing of students in SK to Year 12 and fosters a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and belonging.
Tina brings passion, expertise and 25 years of experience as an anti-racist, inclusive, wellbeing-focused educator to this new role. As Prep Pluralism Coordinator since 2021, Tina has played a key role alongside her Upper School counterparts and all of you in advancing the College’s pluralism objectives. Her work is evident in our thriving student affinity and allyship spaces, our robust framework for curriculum tagging and our productive partnerships with a variety of external experts in the pluralism space. As Coordinator of Wellbeing Programming since 2021 and as Interim Director of Wellbeing since December 2023, Tina has offered leadership to the renewal of the College’s wellbeing framework and programming, which included last year’s whole-community appreciative inquiry and current work with the output from that process to develop an action plan guiding our wellbeing efforts moving forward. Tina has worked extensively with adult learners as a coach for the CIS Cohort 21 network and a facilitator for the CIS Reads EDIJ book club and DEI practitioners network and by running a number of school-based workshops focusing on differentiated instruction, teaching through inquiry and equity and inclusion.
Please join me in congratulating Tina on this well-deserved appointment.
Warm regards,
Dr. Julia Kinnear
Head of the Preparatory School
Academic Dean

We need your support to make this year’s Staff Appreciation Lunch a success!
A time-honoured tradition at UCC, the Staff Appreciation Lunch is our school community’s way of thanking all the different staff who help make our students’ experience at the College so remarkable. This includes teachers, administration, arena staff, housekeeping, food services and support staff. Approximately 350 staff will attend the lunch on May 29 in the Foster Hewitt Foundation Lounge.
The Staff Appreciation Lunch is fully funded by parent donations, so please contribute to this wonderful event for all of our UCC staff by donating here.
Thank you so much for your support!
