Dear Prep Families,

Welcome to 2024 at the Prep!

We hope the holidays provided you all with time for rest and rejuvenation, as well as connection with family and friends. Faculty participated in a full day of rich professional learning and collaborative planning on Monday, and we were thrilled to welcome Prep students back on campus on Tuesday. As we have been greeting students at drop off and encountering them in the halls and in classrooms, their excitement is palpable as they reconnect with their friends, share stories about their holidays, and dive back into inquiring, playing and collaborating. We are keenly focused this week on the joy of being back together, reengaging in learning and supporting our students in reestablishing school routines. 

Please enjoy this week’s edition of Prep Heads Up, which highlights the need-to-know details for families for the coming weeks. We are looking forward to celebrating Winterfest next week—there will be chances all week to show our incredible school spirit. Go Blue!

Spirit Week at the Prep

As we move closer to Winterfest, the whole College will be actively celebrating Spirit Week during the week of January 15. Please see the table below for information on how students are encouraged to dress throughout the week.

Special Note: If a student chooses not to participate in a special dress day, they should wear their regular school uniform. Details can be found on page 25 of the Family Handbook. Also, special dress days at the Prep may differ from those at the Upper School.

Winterfest

We're excited to announce that the Prep is participating in UCC’s Winterfest on Friday, Jan. 19!

Winterfest is an opportunity for all members in the UCC community to display their school spirit and support for the numerous winter athletic teams. Many students and faculty can take part by attending athletic fixtures scheduled throughout the day and by wearing blue and white casual clothing to school. Winterfest is another chance for everyone associated with the Prep to display their strong sense of school spirit!

We look forward to seeing our students celebrating during Winterfest.
