Boarders and board games: On Friday, Feb. 2, a group from Seaton's and Wedd's joined their fellow boarders from Bishop Strachan School for games, snacks and laughs at Snakes and Lattes — a local board game cafe at Yonge and Eglinton. Students enjoyed the chance to meet and match wits and strategy in a variety of games. The night was capped off with a stop for bubble tea on the way back to campus.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, Associate House Advisers Michael Bushey and Andrew Turner led six students to Mount St. Louis Moonstone for a spring-like day of skiing or snowboarding. A 7:30 a.m. departure from campus and a 9 a.m. arrival at Mt. St. Louis allowed for a full day of outdoor fun. Lam Cao, a Year 9 student from Vietnam stepped completely out of his comfort zone to participate. He hadn't seen snow until December and was happily learning the art of skiing in early February. Nikolas Charette is a member of the UCC alpine racing team. He was using the day to enhance his ski technique before the next race. Michael Xu, Terence Chalk, Billy Chun and John Xu were skiing down the intermediate to Black Diamond expert runs, and even testing their ability in the terrain park. 

All students agreed that winter weekend programs provide a wonderful opportunity to solidify friendships, and to get outside for some needed fresh air. The next skiing opportunity will occur during the Family Day long weekend when Seaton's and Wedd's boarders will travel to Mount Orford in the Eastern Townships of Quebec for three days of winter skiing.
