Eid Mubarak! We are sending our community warm wishes of peace, joy, and prosperity on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. On April 10, our Boarding community came together to celebrate this joyous occasion during a special dinner. We welcomed Dr. Mohamad Sawwaf, who recently spoke to Upper School students during assembly, along with speakers from our faculty, staff and students. Together, we shared translated prayers and blessings, and students Musa and Hassan shared how they celebrate Eid with their families.
On Thursday, April 11, students in boarding had the opportunity to experience a wonderful evening during Nuit Bleue! There were beautiful displays of art and music for all to enjoy. There was also an amazing theatre production entitled We're Gonna Die, a play concert that explored the ideas of loss, pain and heartbreak that people experience in their lives. The play was directed by boarding's very own Jerry Jia and starred Jerry Pang as one of the lead actors. As part of the musical accompaniment, excellent drumming was provided by Terry Jin. It was such a joy to see such talent on display!
On Saturday, April 13, boarding students from Seaton's and Wedd's enjoyed a competitive and energetic night of archery tag at Archers Arena. The night was filled with instructional demonstrations, laughs and strategy. It was so great to see everyone enjoying themselves, laughing and planning their next move. The event brought out a healthy competitive battle between the two teams and ultimately ended in a bus ride home filled with smiles and recapping the best moments of the night.
Year 12 boarders marked a very special night together at Batt Ball, the formal dance of the year. After enjoying some snacks at the boarding house, they arrived at the event in style in limousines. Everyone was dressed in their finest and the mood was joyous as they danced, laughed, took photos in the photo booth, and enjoyed the many sweet treats provided (like a wall of donuts!). It was a fitting celebration to cap the year as our Year 12s celebrated their accomplishments, enjoyed some of their remaining time together, and looked back on their times together with nostalgia. A big thanks to the Parents' Organization for all their work in preparing this celebration.
