The University is in permanent contact with the health and academic authorities, following their indications and adopting the necessary measures. The Protocol against the COVID-19 at UCAM guarantees the maximum security for students, employees, customers and suppliers, minimizing the risk of contagion within the working and teaching environment, as well as complying with all legislative provisions in this regard.

Staggered start

The incorporation will be gradual for students from second year onwards, so that the start of classes can take place with security and guarantee for all students.

Attention and service

The University has means and protocols of cases to mantain the health security of the students and staff.

It is not mandatory but recommended use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to access/stay in teaching spaces and facilities.

It is not mandatory but recommended for all members of the university community (students, PAS and PDI), the use of masks, preferably hygienic and surgical, covering the nose and mouth. In general, students must wear their own mask to attend any face-to-face teaching activity.

DECALOGUE OF GOOD PRACTICES

Make sure you have no symptoms before you go to class.

Wash your hands frequently and meticulously, you have hand sanitiser from the gel dispensers distributed throughout the University.

It is not mandatory but recommended to go to the campus with a mask.

When you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Regularly clean the surface you use with tissues.

Keep a safe distance and avoid crowds and contact with other people.

Respect the signs and the marked entry and exit routes. Walk on the right. It is forbidden to stay in the corridors and access areas to the rooms.

If you have symptoms (fever, cough or breathing problems), report them immediately to university staff (janitor, professor, etc.) and follow their instructions.

You must know and obey with all current health guidelines.

Cleaning and disinfection of spaces and equipment

Cleaning of communal areas and toilets with detergents, disinfectant solutions and ozone cannons. Possibility to use electrostatic sprayers with hospital disinfectant to clean the surfaces of the rooms, offices, classrooms, vestibules and other public areas.

Signs

Use of signs to remind to the students and workers that they must respect the protocol of inter-personal distancing. Unidirectional circuits are established whenever possible.

Interpersonal distancing

Provisions regarding classrooms, laboratories, offices and common areas to encourage interpersonal distance.

Hygiene measures

Hand hygiene is the main infection prevention and control measure. To ensure the supply of soap as well as of dispenser of water-alcohol gel in communal areas and at the entrance of any enclosed area.

Tests

Execution of antibody and PCR tests, when necessary, both to students and to workers, following the guidelines of the health service.

Face-masks

Compulsory use of face-masks both for the students and for the workers, clients and providers. Additional use of latex gloves, safety goggles and other equipment of individual protection when required by the activity.

Screens

Methacrylate screens to preserve the security distance in the areas of attention to families and students as well as in communal areas of work.

In the cafeterias, dining areas and stationary shop it will be possible to pay only by credit card.

The UCAM Covid Free protocol includes a series of specific procedures applicable to the different professional, teaching and student activities that are carried out at UCAM, apart from considering the concrete characteristics of the facilities in which such activities are carried out. This personalisation ability of the Covid Free protocol allows to maintain the highest standards of quality in the university teaching that UCAM offers, at the same time as the maximum security and the minimum risk is guaranteed for its students and teachers facing the COVID-19 illness.

The Covid Free protocol is implemented through a control tool that allows to know in real time the results of its application, to detect the critical points and to establish the corrective measures that improve its effectiveness. Furthermore, a surveillance system is established so that, following the evolution of the pandemic and the new guidelines that are published by the health authorities, new procedures are developed or existing ones are adapted.

The application of the Covid Free protocol requires, in a transversal manner, the implementing of a training plan so that it can be applied correctly by the cleaning and disinfection staff, as well as by the workers and students of UCAM so that, in a natural way, the application of the UCAM Covid free protocol becomes a part of the daily routine of the university community.

The COVID FREE declaration guarantees that in all the facilities of UCAM are being applied effective procedures for the cleaning and disinfection and, as a consequence, the students and the staff have the trust that is necessary to enter and use the facilities, knowing that the risks have been minimised.
