There are still those who think they are epidemiologists, who think they know about good and evil, who go around believing whatever, and who also think they are right. Therefore, let's do things right. If we are told to stay at home, we stay at home. It's that simple. Humility, among other things, implies the ability to assume that we don't know everything. Indeed, we do not know everything. Luckily. So, back to the point, we stay home. If you get bored, don't worry, it's normal. That's the way we are or the way we'll all be. It's not that bad at all. It' s better to be bored than sick. It' s better to be bored than to be a source of contagion. There will always be something worse than boredom.
We need to look good, so don't stay in your pyjamas or sportswear all day. Get dressed up, take care of yourself, feel good about your image these days. It will help you.
Enjoy the hours of sunshine in the morning to read, sit down, work or do sports in any area of the house where the sunlight comes in.
It's not time to alter our biological rhythms. Therefore, we must keep our time to go to bed and our time to wake up, as we have done up to now. We cannot take this period as an oasis of sleep. We recommend to go to bed at midnight and wake up between 8:00 and 9:00 am.
IMPORTANT: usually, but especially these days, we should go to bed with no mobile phone, tablet or laptop; without screens in general. If we can’t sleep, we can get up and start reading, do some dynamic activity.
As it's not holiday time (and even if it were), we must take special care with the food and drinks we consume. Although we are not, nor do we pretend to be, nutritionists (we recommend seeking guidance from professionals in the field), we do know that certain food can cause or favour certain psychological conditions. That being said, it is best to avoid: caffeine, refined sugar and processed baked goods. On the other hand, whenever possible, it is good to maintain a balanced diet.
Although we can't go to gyms and parks, it's time to use our house as a gym. There are many applications, videos on Youtube, etc. where we can learn how to exercise at home. So, the recommendation is to do at least one hour of sport a day.
It's an exceptional time to have our house as we would always like to have it but we never find the time to do so, so, let's tidy up, redistribute, redecorate! It is very important for us to be in a comfortable, tidy environment these days. Very often the internal order is accompanied and encouraged by the order of things around us. We encourage you to live these days (and always) in an orderly manner in your physical space.
It's not advisable to spend these days exclusively in leisure. Therefore, we recommend you to watch series, films, play video games, etc., but in an orderly manner, that is, as we should normally do.
It is essential to keep up with the news. But the problem lies in the sources. In such a situation, we are extremely vulnerable to any false, inaccurate content and, above all, we become fans of alarming things. For your own benefit, please take the time to inform yourself exclusively from official sources (professional associations, National and Regional Ministries of Health, etc.). Everyone's opinions are subjective... In short, read again point 1 concerning humility and make sure that people who do not have this humility do not influence you.
The measures taken do not influence our role as parents. Making sure that children have routines like the ones we propose here is fundamental.
It is better. This helps us as far as possible to have a routine that we strongly recommend to fulfil, not as an obligation but as a matter of necessity.
Make the most of this time to exercise your spirituality. These moments of uncertainty are key to exploring, deepening and/or considering our relationship with God.
