Professor, Political Science
Clay Arnold is a Professor of Political Science and Department Chair.
Associate Professor, Creative Writing
Jennie Case is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing as a writer, teacher, and scholar, she explores how landscapes, whether urban or rural, shape our identity and the impact of writing on place-attachment.
Professor, Biology
Dr. Cash is a Professor of Biology. My teaching and research is based broadly on vertebrate biology (and even a few inverts!), particularly in the areas of ecology, ecological physiology, conservation and behavior.

David Dussord dussourd@uca.edu
Professor, Biology
Dr. Dussord is a Professor of Biology. The Dussourd lab studies insect ecology, behavior, and the intriguing interactions between insects and plants. The major focus of our research is on insect counteradaptations to plant defenses. Broader interests include the fields of plant-animal interactions, entomology, behavioral ecology, and chemical ecology.

Dr. Halvorson is an Assistant Professor of Biology. His research focuses on ecosystem ecology, biogeochemistry, nutrition, stream ecology, aquatic invertebrates, and microbial ecology.
Tammy Haselkorn thaselkorn@uca.edu
Associate Professor
Dr. Haselkorn is an Associate Professor of Biology. Her research uses ecological, genetic, and genomic approaches to understand the complex relationships between bacterial symbionts and their eukaryotic hosts. She is interested in characterizing the diversity of bacterial symbionts and the ways they affect their hosts’ ecology and evolution, specifically Spiroplasma symbionts of Drosophila and Burkholderia and other symbionts in the social amoeba, Dictyostelium discoideum. Her goal is to develop a model system to understand the factors that drive the formation and maintenance of a mutualism between bacteria and their hosts.
Lecturer I, Biology
Dane Hudson is a Lecturer & Microbiology Coordinator
Lecturer I, Biology
Kyle Hurley is a Lecturer and Director of the Arkansas State Science Fair.
Colman Little czlittle@uca.edu
Lecturer I, Biology
Colman Little is a Lecturer in Biology. I focus on conservation of native habitats by investigating how bees are affected by different landscape management techniques and habitat alterations, while curating and maintaining our native bee species reference collection.
Lecturer ll, History
Kim Little is a Lecturer in History with a research interest Primarily in environmental and urban history.
Associate Professor, Philosophy
Sharon Mason is an Associate Professor of Philosophy with a primary area of research in contemporary epistemology (the theory of knowledge), focusing on reflective agency, perspective, and ignorance. She is especially interested in how social location influences knowledge generation and transfer. Much of her work addresses intersections between knowledge, ethics, and scientific inquiry. She also works on philosophical pedagogy, including writing and communication, diversifying curriculum, and developing intellectual virtues.
