The RF source operates in the 110 - 170 GHz D microwave band. It is based in an Amplified Multiplied Chain (AMC-I) driven by a PLL that provides an RF signal that can be set from 10.8 to 13.3 GHz. This signal is multiplied 12 times by the AMC-I, generating a MW line in the 130 - 160 GHz range, with a power of approximately 18 dBm to -8 dBm .
The output feeds a modified open end waveguide that illuminates a grid polarizer, providing thus a linearly polarized source.
