In this analysis, the near field behavior of the telescope is studied. The E field power is shown for several distance, starting from 400m, increasing 100m each step up to 4km; further, each 500m up to 35.5km, for a total of 100 plots. Both log and linear scales. To get the total power, and thus get the solid angle, also H field is required, so that one can compute the Poynting vector (in progress).
For each distance, the FWHM has been estimated and plotted vs distance
Figure 1 - ACT beam for different distances, 400m-35.5km, log scale. Each box is 0.6 deg wide
Figure 2- same as Fig.1, linear scale
Figure 3 - Horizontal (blue) and vertical (orange) cuts of the above grids. Log scale
Figure 4 - Horizontal (blue) and vertical (orange) cuts of the above grids. Linear scale
Figure 5 - Beamwidth plottet against distance. Jumps are due to the grid resolution and the selection of the corresponding index array, especially for the nearest beams, whch present several peaks. Improvement by evaluating the beamwidth with solid angle calclulation (in progress) are expected.
