The UBian Read Author Engagement 2 featured guest author Ms. Jane Vergara, who shared valuable insights on the importance of reading and writing. She emphasized that reading strengthens knowledge, critical thinking, and creativity, while writing serves as a powerful tool for self-expression and communication. Through her talk, Ms. Vergara inspired participants to develop a lifelong habit of reading and to use writing as a way to express ideas, reflect on learning, and share meaningful stories. The engagement reinforced the University’s commitment to promoting literacy and a love for learning among the UBian community.
LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES MONTH (LISM) CELEBRATION

The Junior High School proudly celebrates the Library and Information Services Month (LISM) with the theme “LACE-UP: Libraries – A Hub for Cultural Exploration and Unity Through Partnership.” This celebration highlights the important role of the school library as a center for learning, collaboration, and cultural appreciation.

Junior High School Library Orientation 2025
Newly enrolled Junior High School students and transferees attended the library orientation for the academic year 2025-2026 on August 8, 2025, in the High School Learning Resource Center. The orientation began at 3:30 PM until 4:10 PM.
The purpose of this library orientation is to acquaint students with the resources, services, and facilities available at the library. To help students learn how to use and access materials efficiently, navigate the available databases and understand borrowing and returning procedures, and adhere to library guidelines. Additionally, to encourage students to read for pleasure and information as well as to show how the library can be a space for studying, collaborating and accessing academic support.
LOVE MONTH CELEBRATION
The JHS Learning Resource Center was a hive of activity as it celebrated the month of love from February 10–14, 2025. February may be the shortest month of the year, but it is also the month with the deepest memories of love and learning.

The days were filled with smiles, learning, discovering, meaningful conversations, and cherished memories.
The University of Batangas Main Library hosted the 90th National Book Week Celebration Award Ceremony on November 28, 2024. The Most Frequent Library User and Borrower Award and the winners of the series were announced. With the theme Magbasa. Mangarap. Magdiwang, the ceremony recognized individuals who demonstrated exceptional engagement with the library’s resources. The event was inspiring since it emphasized how reading and learning are crucial for fostering both academic achievement and personal development.
BOOKMARK MAKING CONTEST
To make the students aware of the importance of reading in every stage of life, the UBBC JHS LRC was organized the Bookmark Making Contest for the selected students from grade 7 to grade 10. The activity aimed to enhance their creativity, artistic expression and develop language skills.
Bookmark Making Contest supported World Teachers Day with the theme "Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability". Participants of this activity will compose of 20 selected students, 5 students per grade level. They were asked to get their bookmarks created from home from October 5, 2024 to October 14, 2024. In the 10 days allotted to them to complete their designs, they made the most of it to produce bookmarks that were both visually appealing and meaningful.
Awarding ceremony for the winners was held on November 28, 2024 at UBBC Main Library.

Junior High School Library Orientation 2024
The Library Orientation program is a one-hour activity, which offers first year students and transferees an introduction to the library's resources and services, as well as information on study skills and academic integrity to help make the first-year student experience successful.
The High School Learning Resource Center made it possible on September 12, 2024. All section of the Grade-7 level go to the library to attend the said event.
Its objectives are to familiarize students with the library facility, resources and services, to introduce students to issues of academic integrity and to introduce to the students other activities offered by the library. Mrs. Leizle P. Natanauan, librarian-in charged, was the one to preside the said orientation. There is a PowerPoint presentation flashed on the screen for better discussion. Included in the presentation are Library Hours and Location, Library Staff, Library Policies and Guidelines, Library Services, Library Collections, Guidelines on Borrowing of Books and Library Resources, Library Facilities, UB-LIBRO and Library Webpage.
After the discussion, there was an Open Forum to let students ask for clarifications and questions.
