All students registering for an online or blended course at the University of Belize has access to an E-Learning Orientation. This course consist of three levels:
MOODLE FOR STUDENTS (LEVEL 1) - For all Students
ELEARNING ORIENTATION (LEVEL 2) - For Online students
RESPONDUS LOCKDOWN BROWSER
At the completion of the E-Learning Orientation, you will acquire the following skills:
Uploading a File
Manipulating the Online Course Page
Respond to Forum Discussions
Updating your Moodle Profile
Sending Messages
Checking your Grades
Download and access the Zoom Virtual Room & More

Online Courses are scheduled from Monday to Friday, with no scheduled meeting time, enabling students to take classes in the comfort of their homes. These type of courses can be delivered in different modes: Synchronous or Asynchronous.
Synchronous Courses: This type of course is done live (all students must be present at the time of the live session).
Asynchronous Courses: This type of course enables the instructor to prepare course content, resources, and activities, for communication and/or collaboration to take place through the use of forum discussions, emails, social media and other relevant tools.
Blended Courses are scheduled from Monday to Friday, with no scheduled meeting time. These type of courses can also be delivered in different modes: Synchronous or Asynchronous, as shared above. However, Blended Courses are a combination of the traditional face-to-face course and an online course. What does this mean?
It means that a portion of your course can be scheduled to meet face-to-face at a specific time, possibly two or three times during a semester.
It also means that a portion of your course can be scheduled to meet online, either synchronously or asynchronously.

The Respondus Lockdown Browser: This Browser is accessible through the E-learning Orientation, providing details of the Browser and a sample test using the browser. It is recommended that the Respondus Lockdown Browser be downloaded two or three days prior to taking a test or quiz.
