Personal Philosophy of Teaching
I believe that education is important not only because in my country that's the only way we will get a job to supply our daily life, but also to become someone who contributes to your community and society. I believe that every child should be given the opportunity to learn and that it takes a community to raise a child. As a teacher I think creativity plays a big role in the way children grasp or learn things and sometimes it takes thinking outside the box . Often in my community I see cases where teachers and people in the community look down on the less fortunate people and count them out because the majority of them don't have an educated parent but I believe that as a teacher it's my responsibility to go above and beyond and to give every student an equal opportunity.
When it comes to the philosophies of education, I feel I would benefit most from Progressivism and idealism philosophy. This idealism approach in my own understanding is where teachers feel the classroom is a community of learners where we can learn from each other. In progressivism in my own words I believe it’s not the typical way of a teacher standing in front of a group of students but the way in which as a teacher we learn together without students . I believe these are accurate because in my opinion if I the teacher is learning and exploring along with my students, then my students are more likely to be involved and interested in what is being taught to them .
In conclusion, I believe that all of us as teachers should give our students equal opportunity no matter what. I believe that going above and beyond is just as important as any other philosophy that others may have. It is for whatever is in the best interest of the students. I as a teacher will always do my best to be a prepared teacher to try and meet the needs of all my students.
