To provide an environment for exchange of scientists from foreign universities to spend some time with
our scientists either to teach, research or involve in technology transfer activities including if they want
to spend a sabbatical leave period
To provide an environment for competent retired teachers of the university to pursue teaching, research, development activities in the university
To oversee the study abroad programmes involving the students of this university and those of foreign universities while in this university
To take up such other activities leading to agricultural development or policy initiatives
Host reputed scientists from India and abroad for a 2-4 days for lecture, interaction and consultancies
Forge new collaborations with important institutes in India and abroad.
The center would be headed by an officer-in-charge responsible directly to the honourable vice-chancellor assisted by a few supporting staff. A university level committee will meet regularly to monitor the activities of this center
Coordinate all the activities of the center including liasoning with different scientists within the university and outside
Draw up an annual action plan including the budget requirement for the year
Facilitate the visit of scientists abroad to UASD and vice versa
Seek for funds from different sources within and outside the country by obtaining necessary clearances
Obtain reports at the end of the visit from each scientist of the work done including a list of publications.
Arrange for impact assessment at regular intervals
Perform such other activities the university would deem fit from time to time
The passage to and fro will be borne by the visiting scientist, including travel within the country if he/she wishes to visit other laboratories in the country but outside the jurisdiction of the university
Travel for UASD scientists will be supported by this center
During their approved stay, a visiting scientist is provided with a free accommodation (in international
hostel) with a kitchenette so that the visiting scientist and their spouse can comfortably live). On the top of this a living allowance/per diem may be fixed
The teaching or research or development activity the visitor plans must be submitted well in advance for the university to decide the relevance of it including the period of stay, scientist (s) that collaborate with his/her activity etc
