UA Orchestra Alumni!
There are countless examples of UA Orchestra alum who have gone on to have very successful careers in a wide variety of fields. The videos below highlight a few of our orchestra alumni whose training on their instrument lead them to become established professional musicians. Keep checking back to this page, as I hope to add more videos as I track down more of our esteemed alumni.
Jeff Meyers, 1st violinst of the Calidore String Quartet, is a 2007 graduate of UAHS. The Calidore String Quartet has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and has won international numerous awards
John Stulz, violist, is a 2006 graduate of UAHS. He performs in Paris, France with the contemporary music ensemble, 'Ensemble Intercontemporain.'
Annalisa Boerner, violist, is a 2006 graduate of UAHS. She performs and teaches with the Community Musicworks in Providence, RI.
Nathaniel West, bassist, is a 2009 graduate of UAHS. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and is now a bassist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Dr. Timothy Russell is director of orchestras at Arizona State University. He is an alum of the UA orchestra program and he has conducted ensembles throughout North America. He is seen here directing the ASU Symphony and Chorus in the "German Requiem" by Johannes Brahms.
Abhik Mazumder, pianist, is a 2019 graduate of UAHS. He played violin in the UAHS orchestras and is currently studying classical and jazz piano at the Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music.
