World Environmental Day
World Environment Day falls on June 5, 2024. This year’s theme is ‘Invest in Our Planet.' Environment Week is an annual celebration of our environmental accomplishments and a time to consider what more we can do, such as learning and sharing about different environmental issues and impacts, and participating in events and building awareness.
As part of this volunteer activity you can choose between rock painting for their pathway and/or assisting with watering, weeding, composting, and mulching the plots. Rest assured, all the necessary materials for the rock painting activity will be provided!

Asian Heritage Month
May is the Asian heritage month! You can take advantage of many activities happening this month. For example
The YEG-Qi 氣Festival consists of a series of seminars, workshops and exhibitions on Chinese culture, arts and music during a weekend in the Asian Heritage Month in 24, 25, 26 of May 2024. Workshops and seminars will cover arts, music, traditions such as Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, Chinatown History (in Edmonton and across Canada), Tea Culture, Beijing Opera, Chinese Medicine – Herbal Soup and Acupressure, Lion Dance, Erhu and Yangqin, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and so on. Workshop leaders and instructors will be teachers, professors, community leaders, artists and experts in specific subject matter. Through exhibitions, seminars and workshops, the participants will be able to expose to the a portion of the Chinese culture.
