Data tables
Tables 3 and 4 represent simplified data tables of experiments I and II respectively. Each table illustrates the first replicate of the irrigated site in Lethbridge, AB during the inaugural 2019 growing season. Each experiment has multiple locations with four replicates over two years, thus the above tables provide a snapshot to show the scope of the data collected. The sampling units for each experiment are seeded plots with different factors applied to them. In table 1, Year, Location, Factor 1 and Factor 2 are the predictor variables. These predictor variables are categorical and manipulated. Yield and Protein are the response variables. Table 2 has the same components and classification of variables as table 1, with an extra predictor variable labelled as Factor 3.
Exploratory graphics
Experiment I
Box plots were used to explore grain yield and protein content based on Year*Location and N form*N rate in experiment I. Box plots show median values (thick black line inside box), inside their first and third quartiles (bottom and top of box). Whiskers stemming from each box indicate the range of observations excluding outliers. Dots beyond each whisker represent outliers. Null control plots of 0 N were omitted from analysis. No data transformations were applied in experiment I.

Experiment II
Box plots were used to explore grain yield and protein content based on Year*Location and Cultivar*N form*N timing in experiment II. Box plots show median values (thick black line inside box), inside their first and third quartiles (bottom and top of box). Whiskers stemming from each box indicate the range of observations excluding outliers. Dots beyond each whisker represent outliers. Null control plots of 0 N were omitted from analysis. No data transformations were applied in experiment II.
