Precision Human Health Laboratory

Right now at PHHL

At the Precision Human Health Laboratory (PHHL), we are committed to advancing clinical research to improve the understanding and management of chronic diseases.

Here are highlights of our ongoing projects:

Pulmonary Vascular Function

Investigating pulmonary vascular function and the effects of vasodilators like sildenafil in healthy individuals and those with chronic pulmonary diseases. Using tools such as the tilt table, Treprostinil, and lower body pressure devices, this project examines fluid shifts, DLCO, and sex, fitness, and clinical phenotype-based differences to better understand pulmonary circulation and its role in health and disease.

Chronic Usage of β2-Agonists Inhaler

Investigating the chronic effects of β2-agonists in healthy individuals to understand their potential risk-amplifying effects on vascular function. This project examines how these medications impact cardiovascular and pulmonary function, providing insights into their safety profile in clinical populations.

Pulmonary Health in E-Cigarette Users

Examining the impact of e-cigarette use on pulmonary vascular and respiratory function. This project aims to identify potential risks and physiological changes associated with e-cigarette usage, contributing to a better understanding of their effects on lung health.

Vascular Function in

Chronic Kidney Disease

Investigating peripheral vascular function and its clinical prognostic value in individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This project aims to deepen understanding of vascular dysfunction and its implications for disease progression and outcomes.
