Precision Human Health Laboratory (PHHL) is a specialized collaborative research facility at the University of Alberta, Canada. Our group adopts a multidisciplinary approach to advance the understanding of the three aims.
Understand the mechanisms driving vascular dysfunction in chronic conditions.
Identify how vascular dysfunction impacts exercise tolerance.
Evaluate the transformative effects of exercise training using cutting-edge clinical trial designs.
Our research spans three key patient groups — respiratory, cancer, and chronic kidney disease — united under the shared goal of improving lives through science and innovation.
Building on the foundation of Dr. Stickland’s pioneering research and 2013 CFI grant, PHHL has generated impactful discoveries, including over 65 publications supported by CIHR and NSERC funding. Our team, including esteemed investigators Drs. Haykowsky, Pituskin, and Thompson, is at the forefront of translational research.
Together, we strive to pave the way for better health outcomes through precision medicine and collaborative expertise.
