If you need to CANCEL your elective, you must advise Corrie asap.
There are often other students on waitlists who can fill vacated elective spots.

The Anesthesiology department accepts one learner at a time at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. The on site Family Medicine Residency program reserves 6 blocks per year for a core rotation for the first year residents. There is a high demand for undergrad electives, so it is advised that students request electives starting in May for the following academic year.

The Emergency Medicine Department works primarily with learners from the Family Medicine Residency and the GP Year 4 Clerkhsip. A very limited number of undergrad electives are accepted based on the schedule.
Elective rotations from Emergency Medicine resident physicians are accepted with preceptor approval.

Many family medicine physicians in Grande Prairie work with the University of Alberta's Family Medicine Residency Program's - Rural Stream. The family medicine physicians provide clinical teaching as well as academic day presentations.

The General Surgery Department works with the University of Alberta's General Surgery Residency Program to provide core regional rotations as well as The surgeons also teach all residents from the on site FM Program and students from the GP Year 4 Partnership. The group participates in the annual PNME (Pre-Clinical Networked Medical Education) program every September, providing endoscopy shadowing to 2nd year medical students.
