Who We Are:
We are a group of senior undergraduate students studying Biology at the Augustana faculty of the University of Alberta. This website represents the combined efforts of students for the course History and Theory of Biology, as we work to recognize the past failures of science to adequately and diversely represent the contributing members of the community.

I am enrolled in the BSc/BEd program with hopes of applying for veterinary medecine. I love studying biology to better understand the ways of the world and understand the mechanisms that drive and faciliate life.
My favorite experience in studying Biology is the opportunity to work with others to enhance my knowledge and communication skills. I aim to become a science teacher, and I look forward to share what I have learned with others in the future.

I will be graduating from the BSc program at Augustana this year and am beginning my Masters of Science in fall 2021. My focus in graduate studies will be on exercise in chronic illness population, focused on previously underresearched and marginalized populations, so this project was an excellent chance to dive deeper into such communities from a historical perspective.
My favorite experiences in studying biology have been the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of individuals and participate in a number of hands on activities in the lab. I am graduating spring 2021 with a BSc in Biology and am planning on pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
I will also be graduating from the BSc program at Augustana this spring. My goal is the work in the health field. This class and this project have given me an excellent opportunity to learn more about marginalized figures in biology while developing team-based skills, which will have critical applications in a healthcare setting.
