Every patient a physician encounters is more than the presenting ten-word primary complaint. As humans we are all unique, multidimensional beings that deserve to be seen and heard for all that we are and a patient’s illness experience is no different. In order to provide the best possible care, we have a duty to see our patients as their whole selves; incorporating every aspect of who they are into our investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
