Hunter Catonio, Nathanael Tabert, Bryce Crow, Emily Xu, and Tyler Weenink are a group of undergraduate students at the University of Alberta Augustana Campus. We built the website under the supervision of Dr. Anne McIntosh as a final project for our capstone course in Biology.

We created this website with the goal of raising awareness for marginalized scientists within the field of biology. Marthe Gautier is just one of numerous marginalized scientists who have not received the recognition they deserved, luckily Marthe was willing to stand up and speak up about her discovery and work in the field of genetics allowing us to see the truth behind the discovery of Trisomy 21. We dedicate this website to those who were not so lucky, whose stories were never heard, and those who will never be recognized for their contributions to science. Marthe is a stark reminder of the inequality that has and still does, exist within science. This is an issue that must not be ignored and we hope to bring awareness and recognition in order to eliminate marginalization within science and change the narrative for people such as Marthe.
