Mark your calendars! The Launch will take place on October 3rd, 2025.
The Interprofessional Learning Pathway Launch (or IP Launch) introduces students to the University of Alberta's Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE) Learning Pathway (see below).
The IPE Learning Pathway is the interprofessional curricular model developed and delivered by the College of Health Sciences. It includes a series of interprofessional learning experiences threaded throughout the health science programs.
The pathway links to the interprofessional competencies outlined in the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) National Competency Framework. The goal of the Pathway is to prepare workplace ready students for Interprofessional Collaborative Person-Centered Practice.
The purpose of the IP Launch is to:
Provide students with early exposure to what collaborative practice is and how it will fit in your program
Introduce students to the unique role each health profession plays in collaborative care by identifying common perspectives and respecting differences
Understand the patient's role in a healthcare team and of how communication, coordination, culture and collaboration affect their care
Enhance the connection between academia and practice environments
