Descending the Mountain: Exploring the impact of research on pedagogy and practice.

      1. Honouring Indigenous ways of knowing in research and practice.

Indigenous knowledges are both diverse and complex and cannot be generalized. This theme is focused around research that has ethically engaged in Indigenous research with an attention to research, practice, curriculum or policy. Community based research is encouraged particularly with an attention to students and teachers.


      1. Equity, diversity and inclusion: impacting practice through ethical research.

This theme is focused around research that brings attention to the complex issues and practices surrounding equity, diversity and inclusion.


      1. Engaging stakeholders (e.g. practitioners, students, administrators, parents, curriculum developers) in exploring the relationship between quality research and quality practice in physical education and sport pedagogy.

This theme is focused around understanding how quality research shapes quality practice and how quality practice shapes quality research. Research that pays particular attention to those voices that may often be excluded is welcomed.


      1. Practitioner preparation/ professional development/ teachers' preparation in physical education and sport pedagogy (pre-service & in-service).

This theme is focused around conceptualizing new and innovative ways in which we are thinking about practitioner preparation and development.


      1. Teaching and learning in contemporary times: implications of the current teaching and learning environment and state of physical education and sport pedagogy today.

While contemporary times are shifting quickly this theme is focused on how the current climate has shaped both the barriers but also opportunities surrounding learning in physical education and sport pedagogy in today's world. Given our expedient shift towards virtual learning, what does the future look like?
