tips for recording your on demand session

Has your presentation been accepted for an on-demand oral session? Check out the information below to plan for success!

Your prerecorded session (12 minutes MAX!) can be uploaded to the ExOrdo site. Once the platform is open, these sessions will be available for viewing by all conference delegates. The platform allows for questions to be posted and you will be notified and able to respond. As well, we have established Thematic Discussion Rooms (Theme Rooms!) during the live days focused on conference themes and designed for interaction based on daily and on-demand presentations.

Screencast-O-Matic is a free and easy-to-use tool for screen capturing and recording screencasts. You can distribute your recording as a downloadable movie file or make it available online through a Screencast-o-Matic or YouTube account. This service can be a marvelous way to capture and make readily accessible short “lecture” content. (Source: Technologies in Education, UAlberta). Please visit the link for instructions and tips.

Screencastify is a free extension for the Chrome browser, is easy to use and the link has detailed instructions and tips.

As well, you can simply record yourself presenting on Zoom (this link takes you to a YouTube video) and then download it as an mp4!

The ExOrdo site also has some support for prerecorded videos.
