Autism Information for North Alabama
The Regional Autism Network at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH RAN) is part of a statewide collaborative network providing information, resources, and education in North Alabama. RAN offices are located at five universities in Alabama, each serving as a resource hub for information and resources for their respective regions.
The Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) has an agreement with UAH to administer our region's autism network.
Serving more than 200,000 Alabama citizens with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders, ADMH's mission is to Serve, Empower, and Support, and promote the health and well-being of Alabamians.
Alabama Interagency Autism Coordinating Council (AIACC) and ADMH created RAN to help families and professionals navigate the often unfamiliar system of accessing services after a diagnosis.
The AIACC meets quarterly in Montgomery in person or online for observation only. Many state agencies actively participate in the AIACC. Meetings are open to the public.
Each region has a constituency board working collaboratively with RAN Staff. Board members represent their communities, and must have a personal connection to autism. If you are interested in serving on UAH RAN's board in the future, please follow the link below to express your interest.
UAH RAN is located on the campus of The University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Education Department of Curriculum & Instruction.
