The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), in partnership with Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM) and the degree-awarding institute Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), offers an innovative integrated twinning program that enables students to begin their studies in India and finish their bachelor's and master's degrees in the United States. Degrees are offered in Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Aerospace Systems Engineering.

The scenic UAH campus spans nearly 500 acres and includes a nationally renowned institute for the study of severe weather and 17 cutting-edge research labs, such as the Propulsion Research Center, Center for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research, and Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education.

Engaging design courses and a myriad of science and engineering facilities and organizations provide opportunities for UAH students to achieve crucial practical experience. The students pictured above were part of an independent undergraduate research group that invented and developed the STARGATE system, an experimental gridded ion thruster; in 2024, they presented their work in Italy at the 75th International Astronautical Congress.

UAH students gain hands-on research experience by participating in international competitions, including NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge, where the 2024 team won 1st place and forged global bonds with their expertise, generosity, and camaraderie.
