Goal Statement
Transition to Private Sector into a role that draws upon chemical / physics engineering and mathematics experience, high competence in computing at the supercomputer scale / AI to make high impact in industrial and business settings.
Background
I am a chemical engineer with extensive experience in physics & high-performance computing focused on advancing organic optoelectronics - especially OLED device physics, light-extraction, and display-system performance - as well as molecular dynamics of polyalkanes, polyether & polysilicone materials in mixed solvents (water and one of methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol).
Personal Statement
In my next role, I would like to use these unique knowledge, skills, and competencies to problem-solve at the intersection of chemistry, physics, materials, electromagnetics, and engineering problems with use of high-performance research computing systems. I bring an IP-savvy lens with over 7 years in US utility patent prosecution to identify what is truly novel, obvious, feasible, and scalable.
Transferable Skills: Civil Service to Private Sector
Leader – Helped other Examiners within the Art Unit (AU) and outside the AU to work on improving knowledge and competencies of best examining practices.
Planning – I use Office / Outlook / Teams best practices to schedule and keep track of time and activities. Correctly and accurately record time and attendance in WebTA.
Teacher – Taught others how to use restriction Form Paragraphs (FPs) from AUs that don’t typically do Election / Restrictions.
Team Builder – Work in my art unit on Quality Enhancement Meeting (QEM) activities and group problem-solving to achieve efficiency in examination practices.
Customer Service – Dealing with non-government employees / Attorneys / Applicant’s representatives to prosecute patent applications in the Chemical and Biological areas.
