This is an overview of the products that will be created as a part of this project. More details can also be found in the Assessments area.
Throughout the school year, each focus group will be working on their page within a collaborative wiki. During the school year, the wiki will primarily store group notes and goals as well as resources. At the end of the year, the site will be transformed into a public product to be shared at the district-level on how to make engaging online courses. To facilitate the process, the groups will be provided with an initial shell wiki with pages for each group.
Here's a preview of that shell: Engaging Online Courses Wiki
At the end of the school year, all of our groups will participate in a final showcase of learning.
Goals of the showcase:
Audience for the showcase:

Key questions to be answered by each group's presentation:
Teachers will be asked to reflect throughout the project on their personal progress as well as the functioning of their group.
At the beginning of the project, teachers will reflect on the chosen focus areas and which one they'd like to focus on. They'll also set some goals for the school year and let me know some key information about how I can help them as instructional coach. Here's a preview of that survey: Goal Setting Survey
After each monthly PD session, groups will fill out a survey updating me on how their groups are functioning and what progress they're making. Here's a preview of that survey: Focus Group Monthly Survey
In addition to monthly focus group meetings, we'll also have a whole staff discussion each month on one of the focus areas. This will allow us to reflect on where we're at as a whole school with that topic and how we might improve. (See the project timeline.)
Once the wiki is complete and the celebration of learning is done, we'll participate in one last reflection discussion as a whole staff. We'll talk about how the process went, where we could have improved, and how we felt about this method of professional learning. We'll also connect the project to our growing understanding of PBL. Teachers will also reflect on the process in individual coaching conversations at the end of the year.
