The purpose of the entry event is to help us think about online courses from a student perspective and to brainstorm what's possible to make online courses more engaging.
First, teachers will watch this video*:
Then we'll discuss it as a whole group. These are the question we'll tackle:
*Alternatively, a student who's not been happy in our courses could come give a testimonial. This would be the most powerful option but it may be difficult to find a willing student.
Then, we'll complete a card sort activity to help brainstorm what elements make an online course more engaging. Which of these elements could help overcome this student's complaints? The elements we select during the card sort will become the basis for our focus groups throughout the year.
