While completing my M.S. in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) at Boise State University (BSU), I developed competencies aligned to the program’s four Learning Goals. These four program goals shape how I approach performance and learning systems design.
Below is how each shows up in my work across this portfolio.
Apply systematic and/or systemic methods to performance improvement work.
Apply established professional ethics and standards to performance improvement work.
In my work: This shows up when I conduct front-end analysis to structure my process before designing training and prioritize audit-ready documentation in LMS governance work.
Align performance improvement solutions with strategic organizational goals and make recommendations to produce results valued by organizations.
In my work: This shows up when I tie onboarding pathways to operational KPIs like safety, quality, and time-to-competency, and when I design job aids that support compliance requirements while reducing rework.
Collaborate effectively with others, in person and virtually, and communicate effectively in written, oral and visual forms.
In my work: This shows up when I partner with SMEs and frontline leaders during needs analysis, facilitate alignment across departments during LMS implementations, and iterate on training materials based on floor feedback.
Apply theory and evidence to performance improvement work.
In my work: This shows up when I apply adult learning principles to scenario-based eLearning design, use data from completion rates and performance indicators to evaluate training effectiveness, and reference research when making design decisions.
