Hello! My name is Alana Putnam and I recently obtained a graduate certificate from Boise State University, studying Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL). Before transitioning into the OPWL field of study, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education, with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders and English For Speakers Of Other Languages, and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Florida State University (FSU).
After graduating Florida State University, I applied and was selected to become a Teach for America teacher for the 2014 AmeriCorps cohort. Following my TFA training institution in Philadelphia, I returned to my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida to begin my career in education in Duval County. After 6 years of working for Duval County Public Schools, I took a year off of work to focus on raising my three children and traveling to the West Coast, particularly Oregon and Washington State. A visit home to see family led me to apply for a teaching position at Episcopal School of Jacksonville, and I have been working for ESJ the last two school years as the Fifth Grade Teacher
