As I transition from a career focusing on pedagogy, I am excited to help curate understanding for individuals seeking to improve their performance and learn solutions to boost production through analysis and evidence-based practices. Through developing trainings to enhance best practices in organizations, I will be utilizing learning theories popularized by humanists, behaviorists, cognitive phycologists, and constructivists. When approaching educating adults, I will focus on the following key attributes of professional learners:
*Each individual brings a different life experience into the training.
*The readiness to learn and focus of the attendee is affected by the social roles and dynamic of the training.
*Trainings should be curtailed to the needs of the learners, enriching their abilities to perform job-related competencies more efficiently.
*Adults tend to be independent, motivated, self-directed learners seeking strategies and ideas to utilize immediately post-training.
*Creating an environment each attendant can feel supported, important, and respected will improve motivation to connect.
*The overarching goal is to improve the learner's developmental understanding so they can systemically impact their department and organization.
Focusing on the adult learners in the training will produce more efficient and sustainable ripples of change and organization development. HPI is the foundational key to adaption and success.
