This is another tutorial game. The very first version was created in this class using the MoleMash tutorial from our textbook. You can read more of my thoughts about that project here. A few weeks later, I created a different version/tutorial in another class. You can read more about my thoughts on that project here. For this Tourney App, I used the second version and modified the bits that were required to fit into the apps framework, most notably the scoring.
Like the other mini-games, the instructions appear if the user hasn't yet recorded a minimum high score. After dismissing the instructions, the user taps the 'Start' button to begin (shown here a 'Restart' because the text changes once gameplay begins). The mole then appears in random holes taunting the player. The player needs to tap the mole to shoo him away. With every successful tap, the device vibrates, the score is increased, and the speed of the mole's movements are increased. With every unsuccessful tap, the score decreases. When the timer runs out, the game is over and the user can record their high score and return to the launch screen by tapping the associated button.
