Monday: Me and Andrew talked at lunch and came up with a way to get more notes out of the fretboard. I began to redesign the crossbars that were needed to get these more notes.
Tuesday: I finished the crossbars that I mentioned previously and printed them out.
Wednesday: I replaced the crossbars that needed to be replaced and I relabled the solenoids that needed to be.
Thursday: I began struggling with soldering the solenoids and me and Mr. Rojas discussed the best way to crimp the connection.
Friday: I figured out what crimps I needed along with the corresponding tool and ordered the parts. I picked them up from McMaster. I also test mounted the PCB.
Monday: I was on an orchestra field trip to EHS. Began manufacturing aluminum parts for the guitar picking mechanism. I taught James how to use a manual mill to make the parts accurately.
Tuesday: No school.
Wednesday: Made some small changes to the website. Answered questions from Frederick. Made a plan for testing. Gave files to James to be 3D printed.
Thursday: Tested fretting mechanism with the new rubber caps. When pressed my hand, the solenoids where able to change the note well. I then energized the solenoid and it was able to change the note but produced a buzzing sound. I believe this is because I need to move the point where it presses on the string closer to the fret. I will also remake the caps to be more squishy to experiment.
Friday: Another orchestra field trip to NIU.
Manual actuation testing (Bass is out of tune)
Energized solenoid testing
Break: I stained the Plywood. I also did more testing with the Teensy and PCB to map out which pins align with which note, and found a mistake in the code which was fixed.
Monday: Desoldered the headers I had soldered on the Guitar's PCB, but didn't have enough time to solder on the IC sockets.
Tuesday: Began putting together the wind chest for the Organ, just drilled together the sides.
Wednesday: Added the top and bottom of the wind chest. Added the inlet port too.
Thursday: Resoldered the guitar PCB for James using a fresh board because desoldering the old PCB wasn't going as well as I'd hoped.
Friday:
