Massachusetts work permits are issued in the Tyngsborough High School Student Services office (see Mrs. Hartigan) during the academic year. Office hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and our phone number is 978-649-6316.

During the summer, please call the Superintendent’s office at 978-649-7488 to schedule an appointment.

If you are a student of Tyngsborough Public Schools, please bring in the completed work permit application to have a work permit issued.

If you are not a student in the Tyngsborough Public Schools, please bring the following with you:

• Completed work permit application

• Birth certificate

• Enrollment verification letter or transcript signed by a school official from current school. Must have your name, grade, home address and date of birth.

• Photo identification (school id, driver’s license or passport)

For New Hampshire Employment

For New Hampshire permit details and “Employer’s Request for Child Labor” form (ages 12-15), click here. NH work permits are issued by high schools in New Hampshire. We recommend calling either Nashua High School South (603-966-1100) or Alvirne High School (603-886-1260) to see what supporting documents they need in addition to the application and to schedule an appointment.

Students who are ages 16 and 17, a parent or legal guardian must write a note allowing permission to work. No permit is necessary for these ages in New Hampshire.
