Counseling Department Mission Statement
The Tyngsborough Middle School Counseling Department is committed to providing a high quality, comprehensive, developmental counseling curriculum that promotes the well-being and positive development of each individual student. The Counseling Department addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. In collaboration with parents/guardians, educators, and the community, the Counseling Department is dedicated to support every student’s unique abilities and assist them in realizing their abilities, needs, interests, and goals as they transition through the educational process to become successful members of society and lifelong learners.
CASEL-Aligned Student Support
Our Middle School Counseling Department uses the CASEL framework to guide our work in supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth. By focusing on CASEL’s core competencies, we provide developmentally appropriate counseling lessons, individual and group support, and schoolwide initiatives. This approach helps ensure a consistent, equitable, and student-centered counseling program.
I’ve been part of the TPS community since 2015, and I love supporting students as they navigate these exciting (and sometimes challenging) middle school years. My job is to help with everything from academics and organization to friendships, problem-solving, and just having someone to talk to.
At home, I have a busy and fun family life! My husband, Joe, is a special education teacher, and we have two kids - Ellie, who just started kindergarten, and Tyler, who’s 2½. I can’t wait to get to know your child this year and work with you to make middle school a rewarding, supportive, and enjoyable experience!

As a School Psychologist, I help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Having worked in schools for almost 10 years, I’ve found a particular interest in cognitive development and partnering with teachers and parents to build on students’ strengths while supporting areas of growth.
When I’m not at school, I am busy as a new mom to my son, which has been a joyful adventure. I look forward to a positive and successful school year in our new building!

Hi - I'm Ms. Sciuto (pronounced Shoe-toe)
I'm an independently licensed clinical social worker and School Social Worker at both TMS and THS. I've been working in schools since 2013, and before that, I supported individuals and families in a variety of clinical settings. I'm passionate about emotional growth, healing, and mindfulness, and I bring that energy into the work I do with students every day.
Outside of work you'll catch me spending time with my 8-year-old son, being out in nature, going to concerts, doing puzzles, and trying out new restaurants.
