A number of components within Schoolbox are capable of linking and displaying content and resources from other folders and homepages within Schoolbox. This does not duplicate the content, rather, it creates a live link to it. So, if there are changes made to the original content of the component, these changes will be displayed on all pages that are linked to the component.
This important feature enables users to share, collaboratively develop and centralise content in Schoolbox.
To find out if a component has the option to link to an alternative source, click the settings icon in the component’s header. You will then see a button called 'select source'. This button means that the component can be linked to an alternative source within your school's Schoolbox instance.
1. Click the cog icon in the header of the component
2. Click 'Select Source'
3. Locate the folder or resource you would like access by using the breadcrumbs menu.
4. Once you have located the folder where the resource or component is located, Click 'Use this Folder'.
5. Sometimes there are multiple sources of the same type (e.g: tiles, text boxes) on one page. To browse the options available click the drop down menu and select your source.
6. Click 'Update'.
