English learning - a meaningful and pleasurable experience

General English lessons

Learning has been fruitful as students exposed themselves to different text types such as recipes and film synopsis. There have been ample opportunities over the course of learning which allow students to share their personal thoughts and opinions after reading in English. Students engaged themselves in e-learning and made good use of gadgets and tools for English learning as well.

English Language Teaching Assistant (ELTA) lessons

In 10-12 lesson's time, students learnt to introduce themselves and present ideas regarding their dream job in English with the help of our ELTA, Miss Janette and their local English teachers (LETs). Students have developed confidence in using English orally, what is more, they have started thinking and planning for their future through this. In the second half of the programme, they learnt and acquired essential skills in English discussions, such as ways to ask for other's opinions, respond to and criticise other's ideas. which they could apply when they attended interviews in their desired secondary schools.

Applying English in Projects

Coming to the end of the school year, students were immersed in the joy of graduation. They had great fun planning for a graduation party, discussing the details of it in English with their peers.
