Thank you for your interest in joining Mathnasium! We’d like to invite you to interview for the Math Tutor position at Mathnasium of [Location].
We typically schedule interviews [Monday–Thursday between 1:00–8:00 PM and on Saturdays between 10:00 AM–2:00 PM]. Please reply with a few dates and times that work best for you within those windows.
As part of the hiring process, you will also complete a math literacy test. This can be taken immediately following your interview or within 48 hours afterward.
We look forward to meeting you!
Best regards,

Mathnasium of [Location]
If a candidate is unable to come in person for the interview, you may also set up a virtual interview through Zoom.
Have the candidate come in for an interview
Details on how to interview a candidate can be found on the Instructor Interview Guide linked above
It is best practice to have more than one person present for interviews. Reach out to your District Director or the Personel Director to see if a second person can be present
Ask the candidate if they are able to take the next 2 hours to complete our Employment Test
If they are not able to do so, schedule a time for them to come in and take it. They should idealy come in to take the test within 48 hours if possible!
This is required for them to be considered for a position as a math instructor
You can find details about administering an Employment Test in the Employment Test Guide (linked in resourses above!)
If they do well on their Employment Test and meet other expecations, give the candidate a call to offer them the position!
As part of this conversation, schedule their Orientation Day which will mark their first day of employment with us.
IMPORTANT: As part of your offer, make sure to ask the candidate "Are you 18 years old or older?" If they say no, you will need to send a Consent Form to them and have it filled out and returned before you can submit a background request for them. The Consent Form is found in MMS under Documents.
Under View Candidates in MMS, click the Create Offer Letter button
These fields will need to be filled out
Position - Instructor
Employment Type - Part Time
Start Date - same day as Orientation Day
Compensation - This should match what is set on the job application (Can be found via View Jobs in MMS)
Offer Expire - set as same day as Start Date
Submit the offer letter!
You can find the Background Check Request under Forms -> My Forms in MMS
Fill out the form with the necessary info and submit. This will put in a request to the Personel Director who will then send out the Background Check to the instructor
If the instructor in a minor, you will need to attach their Consent Form to the background check before you submit
When the onbaording process in Paylocity has been started by the Personel Director, the candidate should receive emails inviting them to create their account and start the onboarding process
Having them do this before their first day will alleviate trying to get everything completed on Orientation Day
